1.) The first idea I have that I want to do is for a 4th grade class. They would each pick an animal from the rainforest. Do research about the animals online. They would have a list of 20 or 25 things they could research about and they would only have to pick 7 or 8 of them to research. For example, where they live, what do they eat, etc. After that the students will make a podcast using garage band telling about their animals. The students would talk as though they were the animal. It would be titled "A day in the life of _______" The blank would be the animal.
2.) This would be for a 5th grade class. They could pick planet, and research certain facts about this planet. Then journal their trip from earth to this planet using blogger.com. This would help with science because they would know about the planet but it would also help with their writing skills doing their journals.
3.) This project would be for a 7th grade class. Each student would pick a disease to research for example cancer, AIDS or diabetes. They would have research requirements that they would need to have. I would make a webpage on NVU for them to put all their information on. There would be a homepage with a list of diseases and then an information sheet for each disease.
4.) This is is an 8th grade project. They would take examples of good and bad recycling and talk about why it is good or why it is bad. This would be an imovie project. The students could make this movie in groups of two and sort of make it a debate for each product that they have for an example.
5.) 2nd graders could make a comic on weather. They could learn about weather in the classroom by reading stories and watching the weather everyday. Students would then pick a type of weather they wanted to do such as rain, sunny etc. They would make a comic of two people talking about the weather and why it is like that outside.
I am thinking of doing the first idea. I really like studying animals and I think a podcast would be a really fun thing to do for students especially if they are going to act like the animal itself. This is a great way to do research on and off the internet and a good way for students to learn how to do garage band.

Casee, great ideas, and the podcast sounds like fun. I am wondering what 25 things could be that they research- I like the idea of choice, but 25 categories might be hard. Also think about how to challenge all students, maybe some do an animal and the biome where that animal lives?
